Recycled Light Bulb Carrot Ornaments

 

Maybe it’s because my Bacon Asian Orange Chicken Pizza is a semifinalist recipe in the Pillsbury 1 Million dollar Bake-Off contest, or maybe it’s because carrots always remind me of Spring, either way I have orange crafts on the brain. This “orange” craft is also green, recycling old burned out light bulbs into ornaments. 

 

Materials Used:

 

Old Bent Tip Light Bulbs

Orange Yarn

Green Yarn

Green Floral Wire

Hot Glue

Green Permanent Marker

Orange Permanent Marker

 

Directions:

 

Using scissors or wire cutters, cut floral wire in half. Wrap it around the base of your light bulb, forming a loop for hanging. With hot glue, attach orange yarn, wrapping tightly around bulb as you go. At the base of bulb, wrap green yarn tightly around base and floral wire. Hot glue ends of yarn down. Tie a bow around top of bulb with more green yarn. If any hot glue shows up white, color it in with your permanent markers.

How to Enter

Cooper Tire Facebook fans may submit their not-so-every day road trip stories on the company’s Facebook page in one of the following ways: a written story, a photo or a video. Winners will be selected based on criteria such as originality, creativity, and their passion for Cooper tires and compelling content.

The top written story will win a $100 gift card to use toward gas for one week while the highest rated photo entry will receive a $500 gift card to use toward gas for one month. The top five video finalists will each win a new set of four Cooper tires and advance to the final phase of the competition. In the final phase, Cooper Tire Facebook fans will be encouraged to vote for their favorite Every Day Road Trip video, to help determine the final winner. The video with the combined highest score and most votes will be awarded a gift card for $5,000 toward gas for one year to fuel their daily drive.

You could also win simply by going to their Facebook page and voting for your favorite story. That’s right,Cooper Tire is also offering its fans a chance to win a Road Trip Kit just for voting during the My Every Day Road Trip sweepstakes. Beginning April 15, fans can vote for their top video to help determine the overall Cooper Tire Facebook video winner.
